The essential function of this position within the organization is to conduct hearings and make recommendations on matters referred for hearings by judges. The position is responsible for setting referred cases for hearing, 进行听证, preparing factual and legal findings and recommendations for the parties and for the referring judge’s consideration, and reviewing the appropriateness of entry of ex parte orders for the Circuit Judges. This position works under the general supervision of the Chief Judge or designee. The office is located in the Columbia County Courthouse.

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Five years of experience in the practice of law.

Member in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Knowledge of the responsibilities and authority of the General 法官, as set forth in the rules, 法规, 判例法.

Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret Florida 法规 判例法 concerning dependency, 心理健康, 药物滥用, probate and guardianship, dissolution of marri年龄, 孩子的抚养费, 亲子鉴定, 和丧失抵押品赎回权.

Knowledge of the Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure, Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Probate, and Rules of Judicial 政府 and local administrative rules.

Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply the rules of evidence.

Ability to work with attorneys and self-represented litigants in stressful situations.

Ability to exercise a high degree of judgement, tact and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to conduct legal research and to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

The circuit covers Columbia, Dixie, Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor Counties.

*Successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.
